For the last 7 weeks, dental clinics have been shut down due to the COVID-19 virus…and now…we re-open.
This shutdown has been anything but time off for us. We have been working day in and day out so when this day finally came, we would be 110% prepared. During this time, we have learned a great deal about our clinic, our patients and ourselves. And now, we are ready.
We have thoroughly improved the structure of our office protocol from the time you enter to the time you leave. The day before your appointment, you can expect a call from us to explain with the utmost detail what is expected of you as you enter our clinic. We want to ensure there is no confusion and the entire process is streamlined.
We will go over a series of questions the day before, as well as the day of your appointment to ensure it is safe for you to enter our clinic. We will also be taking a forehead temperature using a no touch thermometer on your entering of the waiting room.
We will have hand sanitation stations positioned throughout the office and waiting room, accessible to all staff and patients.
We continue to use the highest standards of sterilization for all instruments.
Drs. Canham and Fowler have been working night and day constructing floor to ceiling walls around several operatories. These rooms are where any aerosol generating procedures will take place. Following these procedures, no one will be permitted to enter the room for a period of 2 hours. After the settle time is reached, every surface of the room will be completely and thoroughly disinfected.
We have a sufficient supply of PPE for our staff which complies with the guidelines provided to us by the SHA.
We have chosen to split our staff into two completely separate shifts. This will minimize the amount of personnel in the office at any given time. This means our office will be open from 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Additionally, we will only be seeing a limited number of patients each day so we can continue to maintain proper distancing.
We have an incredible responsibility to our community to ensure our clinic is safe. And thus we are holding ourselves to the highest standard when it comes to patient safety.
If you have any questions please reach out to us. Anyone of our staff members will gladly be able to help you as we have all been educated and are well informed of the proper protocols.
We are excited to get back to work and continue doing what we love. Thank you Regina for continuing to keep our community safe.
